ACADEMY PARENT NIGHT IN THE CLASSROOM 2021
Parents of current Academy students are invited to attend Parent Night in the Classroom. This event will take place on Thursday, September 9th in the West Cafeteria at Glenbrook South High School starting at 7 p.m. Academy students have received a letter with more details about this evening.
The World Language for the Class of 2026 will be Chinese.
Interviews and Impromptu Writing:
On Thursday, January 28th, Academy applicants will complete two writing samples and sit for an interview with Staff and current students. This process will occur remotely through Zoom.
We will open the Zoom meeting at 3:45 p.m. and begin promptly at 4:00 p.m. Students will receive two writing prompts in the meeting and will have until 6:30 p.m. to complete them. While students are writing their responses, we will place each student in a Breakout Room for their interview. The interviews will last between 5-8 minutes. At the end of the interview, students will be returned to the main Zoom meeting to complete their prompts.
Students are expected to remain in the live Zoom meeting while they are completing their samples. Students may write their responses in any Word processing document. When they are finished, they will copy and paste their prompts into an email and send them directly to the Academy. We will provide an email address for this process during the meeting.
Once the applicant has completed their interview and the writing responses, they are free to leave the meeting. However, the meeting will end at 6:30 p.m. for all applicants.
We will be emailing the Zoom Meeting link to all students later this week.
Please contact Mr. Whipple or Mrs. Chandiles with any questions or concerns.
The Academy Application is now closed.
