Bus Service
Riding the Bus at Glenbrook
Glenbrook High School District 225 has entered into an agreement with First Student (Northbrook) to provide bus transportation to families that purchase an annual bus pass. Bus pass rates are determined based on an estimated number of riders and approved by the Board of Education. The rates for the 2022-23 school year are as follows:
Individual Rate First Child Purchasing a Glenbrook Bus Pass in a Family |
Sibling Rate Additional Children Purchasing a Glenbrook Bus Pass in a Family |
---|---|
$970.00 | $485.00 |
Bus passes can be purchased online through the PowerSchool Parent Portal, or in-person at the bookstores. For step-by-step instructions on how to purchase a bus pass, please visit our Purchasing a Bus Pass Online web page. For questions regarding the refund procedure for bus passes, please refer to the Student Transportation Policies web page.
Bus Passes
The bus pass is part of the student ID card. Students may present a physical student ID card or a digital student ID using their smartphone.
After the first week of school., students will be required to present their bus pass to the bus driver and scan their ID upon boarding the bus. This system enables the school district to track who is riding the bus each day and provides critical information to school personnel in the event of a safety situation. Students that attempt to ride the bus without a purchased bus pass will be referred to the appropriate Dean.
Daily Bus Routes and Stops
Actual bus routes and stops are created using the addresses of students that purchase their bus pass by Friday, August 5, 2022.
Families seeking to purchase a bus pass after August 5th will be assigned to an existing route only if there is space available (we are unable to make exceptions to this guideline). We strongly encourage families to purchase their bus pass prior to August 5th to benefit from a more convenient bus stop. The District does not accept requests to add additional bus stops.
Bus routes for the 2022-23 school year will be made available to parents on Monday, August 15, 2022. For your reference, the most current routes are linked below:
Please note: Routes and stops are subject to change due to road/traffic conditions and other factors outside of our control. Changes will be announced as soon as possible and will be communicated by email and/or text.
Daily Late Activity Buses
Late Activity Buses run every school day and are offered only to students who have registered and purchased a bus pass.
Drivers route the late activity buses based on daily ridership. As students board the bus they inform the driver of either their address or the cross streets of their regular bus stop. The length of the ride is dependent on the number of riders and can fluctuate from as little as 15 minutes to as much as an hour. These routes do not mirror our regular routes. They travel primarily on the main arteries of Glenview and Northbrook.

Communication Regarding Bus Routes
The district has subscribed to a mobile app that enables parents to check the status of their student’s bus route. The FirstView App provides the ability to access real-time bus tracking with estimated arrival times. Additionally, this app will provide First Student and your child’s school the ability to “push” transportation-related messages should there be a delay, or important reminder. You may download the app on your phone or Ipad by searching FirstView or on your computer.
