Bus Services
Glenbrook High School District 225 contracts with Safeway Transportation Services to provide safe, reliable bus transportation to students who purchase an annual bus pass.
Students are required to present a physical bus pass to the bus driver upon boarding the bus (a digital student ID will not work for this purpose). Bus passes will be issued to students after the first Friday of August. Students purchasing a bus pass after they have been distributed, can obtain one from the bookstore.
Routes and Stops
Bus routes and stops are created using the addresses of students who purchase bus passes by the first Friday of August. We strongly encourage families to purchase their bus pass early to benefit from a more convenient bus stop. Bus passes purchased after the first Friday of August are assigned to an existing route only if space is available (We are unable to make exceptions to this guideline). We do not accept requests to add additional bus stops.
The following parameters are utilized when designing routes:
- 45-60 minute routes (inclusive of road/traffic conditions)
- Routes utilize major streets and stop at appropriate intersections (buses do not enter subdivisions)
- Two students in each seat/bench
- Minimize the need for students to cross over streets with significant traffic or construction projects
Routes and stops are subject to change due to road/traffic conditions and other factors beyond our control. Changes are announced by email as soon as possible.
Bus routes will be made available the Monday before the first day of school.
Late Arrival Days
On late arrival days, buses run approximately 90 minutes later than the normal schedule.

Daily Late Activity Busses
Late activity buses are offered daily to students who have purchased a bus pass. Routes vary based on daily ridership and do not follow regular routes, but travel primarily on the main arteries of Glenview and Northbrook.
As students board the bus, they must provide the bus driver with either their address or the cross streets of their regular bus stop. Ride times are dependent on the number of riders and can range from 15 minutes to an hour.
