E-Learning Day

The schedule for the day starts at 9 a.m.. Our Emergency E-Learning Day provides families and students with the flexibility to complete assignments in any order and at whatever pace is appropriate for the individual learner. Teachers are available from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. to answer questions via District communication tools.

The school day starts at 9 a.m.

Attendance is taken for each course using each teacher’s Google Classroom and completing the Student E-Learning Day Check-in. This acknowledges attendance and awareness of the assignment. 

In order for a student’s attendance to be marked “present”, a student must complete the  Student Emergency E-Learning Day Check-in for each class by 12 p.m. on the e-learning day. The directions are as follows:

• Go to Google Classroom.
• For each class, find the Student Emergency E-Learning Check-in assignment.
• Review the work for the day in the Student Emergency E-Learning Check-in post and click “Mark as Done”. This serves as your attendance.”

NOTE: This is not when the work is due. It is acknowledgment that you have read and understand the teacher’s plan for the day.
 

If a student is “absent”, a parent should report the absence through the PowerSchool Portal:

• Log into your PowerSchool Portal
• Select "Attendance Monitor" from the left navigation pane
• Click "Report New Attendance"
• Enter details about the absence
• Click Submit

Please note that the automated attendance phone calls will be disabled on E-Learning Days.  Parents always have the ability to verify their student’s attendance by navigating to the PowerSchool Parent Portal and selecting Attendance History.
 

Teachers will provide relevant instructional assignments and students can complete these at their own pace appropriate to their individual learning needs. Educators will be available through district communication tools to answer questions and provide guidance regarding the assignment(s) directions.

Students go to the Google Classroom for each class and read the Student Emergency E-Learning Check-in. This post provides the assignments, materials, and additional resources/directions for the Emergency E-Learning day for each class.  Additionally, reading and marking the post as complete serves as the method for taking attendance.

1. Starting at 9:00 a.m., visit Google Classroom for today’s assignments..
2. By 12:00 p.m., complete the Student Emergency E-Learning Check-in for each of your courses.
3. By the next face-to-face class time, show evidence of participation and understanding by completing and/or submitting assignment(s) for each course.

During periods of inclement weather or in emergency situations, our first priority is the safety and welfare of our students and staff. At the same time, the closing of school can be burdensome to families due to childcare and work schedule.
