Board appoints new member to fill vacancy

On Monday, February 8, the Glenbrook High School District 225 Board of Education approved the appointment of Dr. Sonia Kim to fill the member vacancy left by the resignation of Cindy Wilkas. After taking her oath, Kim immediately began serving the remainder of vacancy, which will expire in the spring of 2017.

Kim and her family reside in Glenview. She has one child enrolled in the Glenbrooks, and two children who will attend in the future.

Kim currently works as a managing director of marketing and educational programs at Northwestern University and has an extensive background in science and education. She obtained a doctorate and master's degree from Harvard University and her undergraduate degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

“It’s a privilege to be a part of the Board and involved in the district’s educational ecosystem.  I hope to offer a perspective that is based on my teaching experiences in the secondary school setting and my on-going exposure to college admission and activities.  It’s exciting for me to be part of a team that will continue to propel District 225 as one of the top districts in the country.”
