The safety and security of our students and staff is always our top priority and remains so during the emerging and rapidly changing situation surrounding Coronavirus (COVID-19). To that end, after consultation with our surrounding area high school districts, we have made the difficult decision to cancel school Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20. Under current law, these days will need to be made up during our emergency days scheduled in June. Additional communication will be forthcoming on this topic prior to the end of the school year.
Tomorrow, Friday, March 13, is a regular school day as scheduled. However, for those who elect to stay home, we will document the absence as excused.
Spring Break, which is scheduled March 23 through March 27, will continue as planned.
We plan to institute e-learning days beginning Monday, March 30 until further notice. We encourage students to bring home all learning materials and devices that may be needed at the end of the day tomorrow. Preliminary information is given below with more details to be provided before Spring Break.
• All D225 students are assigned a Chromebook or alternative device which can be used for e-learning activities.
• In the event that students are not able to access their school-issued devices or the Internet on an e-learning day, students may request assistance by contacting the school at 847-486-4555 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
As more information becomes available, we will share it via email; we will also post all communications and resources on our district website. Thank you for your continued partnership as we all work together to look out for each other and keep our friends, neighbors, colleagues, and families safe.
