April 24, 2020

During a press conference yesterday, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker announced an official extension of the “Stay at Home” order through May 30. As you know, this includes mandated closures of all Illinois schools through the remainder of the school year. We know this decision is made in order to protect the health and safety of our entire state as we continue to navigate the challenges of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The word that keeps rolling around in our minds right now is “continuation.” Life moves on, we all move forward, and everyone continues to work through this new normal. The district leadership team has been working to finalize important decisions that impact our entire school community such as final exams, student belongings and summer school. In addition, there are numerous events and activities honoring our seniors that will be taking a different shape as we move forward. After ensuring the safety and well-being of our students and staff, these topics are our most immediate and pressing decisions that once finalized in the next week, will be shared with families.

We thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we safely and whole-heartedly reshape these end-of-year experiences that our school communities hold so dear. As always, we will remain in constant communication and ask you to stay connected with us and each other.
