MEDICAL EXCUSES
It is understandable that there are times when a student cannot participate in physical education class due to a short term, unexpected illness or injury. Students unable to participate must bring a note from a parent/guardian (for 1 to 3days), or doctor (for 4or more days) to the school nurse, preferably before school and definitely prior to physical education class. The nurse will issue an excuse that is brought to the PE teacher. As the medical officer of the school, the nurse will decide if a student should participate in class when the student becomes ill or injured during the school day. Students must bring the excuse from the nurse to the PE teacher who will retain the student in class as a non-participant. Students are expected to dress in PE Attire even if they will not be active. Students with an extended doctor's excuse (five or more days) may be reassigned.
