Standardized testing dates and registration deadlines are listed below. Online registration is the preferred method, however, you may pick up registration packets in the College Resource Center. The deadline date is the postmark date. (When registering close to the deadline date, it is recommended you bring the packet to the post office to ensure the postmark date.)
PLEASE NOTE: Glenbrook North High School does not record test scores on transcripts or applications. It is the student's responsibility to request the testing company to send their scores directly to the college(s).

The ACT is required by all the state schools in Illinois. It is accepted at most schools in the country. Juniors are advised to take the ACT in April or June. Illinois State Scholars are selected on the basis of ACT/SAT scores and/or GPA at the end of junior year.
Additional information and online registration is available at www.actstudent.org Registration packets are also available in the College Resource Center and contain a detailed explanation of fees. Students are responsible for mailing these forms directly to ACT.

Juniors are encouraged to take the SAT in either the April, May or June. SAT subject tests should be taken if they are completing a course in which they have done better than average work and SAT subject tests are required by the college (s) to which they are applying.

The PSAT/NMSQT is recommended for all juniors who are college bound and who also wish to compete in the National Merit Scholarship program. This is an excellent practice test for the SAT.

PSAE
PRAIRIE STATE ACHIEVEMENT EXAM

The Prairie State Achievement Exam (PSAE) is an Illinois state mandated test for juniors. It includes three components: the ACT Plus Writing, an ISBE-developed science assessment, and two Work Keys assessments (Reading for Information and Applied Mathematics).
