Administrative Vacancies for 2016-17

  • Assistant Superintendent for Business/CSBO
    The Glenbrook High School District is seeking candidates who will be responsible for the areas of business, operations and auxiliary sservices, as well as being a member of the Superintendent's Executive Cabinet.  This position supervises the Director of Business/CSBO, the Director of Operations/CSBO, and all business office support staff.  Candidates must have a minimum of a Masters degree in a business related field and a Professional Educator License with a Chief School Business Official endorsement.  A minimum of 5 years of school business management experience is preferred.

Glenbrook North HS has the following anticipated openings for 2016-17.

  • Band Director - Glenbrook North High School is actively seeking a dynamic and creative band director to join our staff.  The ideal candidate for this position will be experienced in a wide variety of band ensembles including concert band, jazz band, marching band, and chamber music, and must be comfortable in a collaborative, team-teaching environment.  In addition to teaching band, applicants should possess a working knowledge of music production and technology.  Familiarity with Garage Band Ableton Live and ProTools is desired.  Extracurricular responsibilities include co-directing the Spartan Marching Band, participating in concerts and festivals, helping to lead a bi-annual band tour, and other duties as assigned.

  • Math Teacher - This is a full time position.

  • World Languages: Spanish - This is a full time position.  The department is in need of a versatile instructor that can teach honors and AP in a rotation system.  Ideally the candidate should have a MA in Spanish and training/experience in curriculum develpment in a proficiency based program.

  • Science - This is a full time position.  Experienced teachers who are able to teach all levels of physics including AP Physics C (calculus-based.)  Physics major, or the equivalent of, along with a solid background in mathematics is required.

  • School Psychologist - This is a full time position.  Candidates must have a minimum education level of MA+30 for licensure and have experience writing 504 plans.

Glenbrook South HS has the following anticipated openings for 2016-17

  • Choral Music Director -  Candidates for this position must have experience in working with a wide range of choral ensembles including mixed voices to all-male/all-female choirs.  Applicants must also be thoroughly acquainted with all genres of choral literature.  Qualified candidates should have the ability to inspire and motivate students in preparation for at least four major concerts each year and various performances determined by the instructional supervisor.  The candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to integrate high school music into the community and help students realize this connection.  Applicants should have a working knowledge of fundraising efforts and trip planning.  Thorough knowledge of music history and advanced music theory is required for instruction in the choral setting and in the music theory class.  Extracurricular extensions of the music program through specialty ensembles are expected.

  • Physical Education - There are 3 full time positions available.

  • Special Education - This is a full time position.  Experience in teaching history, English and reading is preferred.  Ideally the candidate will have a reading specialist or reading endorsement.

  • Science: Physics - This is a full time position. Candidates must be certified in physics.   An inquiry teaching philosophy and strong desire to work in a team setting is essential.

  • Social Studies - This is a full time position.  Candidates should be certified in Psychology.

  • Social Studies - This is a full time position.  Candidates should have English as a Second Lanugague (ESL) endorsement and also be qualified to teach a wide variety of history and social science classes.

  • Guidance Counselor - This is a full time position.

  • Social Worker - This is a full time position.  Some experience is required.  Candidates bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

Homebound Teachers for 2015-2016

Glenbrook High Schools are seeking Homebound teachers who would provide instruction to students who are unable to attend school in our buildings.   Homebound teachers generally deliver instruction in core subjects to students at their home.  Assignments can range from a couple days to several weeks.  
Each session averages 2 hours per day.  Homebound teachers are compensated at $53/hour for direct instruction and receive some compensation for lesson preparation. To serve as a Homebound teacher, you must hold an Illinois State Teacher License and have an active Illinois Driver’s License.

Long Term Substitute Vacancies for 2015-16

Glenbrook South anticipates a long-term leave in Biology and Forensic Science for April through June 2016.  Outstanding candidates interested in this full time leave position must be certified in biology.  Being able to work with course teams in these two areas is essential.  Interested candidates should complete an online application.

Club and Activity Vacancies for 2016-17

The Glenbrook South High School student activities office is currently taking applications for two costumers for the 2016-17 school year. The costumers would be responsible for the fall and winter plays, musical, variety show, and music department needs (choral and instrumental programs). Applicants must have the ability to put together a costume plot for theatrical productions and be able to sew.

Glenbrook South seeks an assistant debate coach for the 2016-2017 school year. Applicants must have experience in high school and college policy debate.  This position involves tournament travel, watching practice debates, and assisting in team research projects.
