 Summer School Vacancies 

The District #225 Summer School program is an important extension of the regular school year. To guarantee the high quality of course offerings and the caliber of instruction provided in the Glenbrook’s regular school year program, we encourage District #225 teachers to teach in the Glenbrook Summer School. We will also accept teaching applications from area teachers who have significant experience and academic background to provide an exemplary contribution to our summer school offerings and students.

First semester - June16 - July 7 (Tentative dates depending upon use of inclement weather.)
Second semester - July 8 - July 28

One semester and yearlong courses will meet from 8:00 a.m. to 12:25 p.m. or from 8:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. daily Monday through Friday.

Applied Technology: Computer-Aided Drafing

Art: Art Studio; Computer Art; Jewelry; Photography; Sculpture

Business: Consumer Education; Keyboarding

Drivers Education: Classroom; Behind-the-Wheel

English: English, all levels; Theater Workshop; Readers' Workshop; Writers' Workshop; Vocabulary Workshop;  Independent Reading

English Language Learners (ELL): Bilingual Prealgebra Readiness; Language Workshop; Vocabulary Builder

Family & Consumer Sciences: Foods and Nutrition

Health: Health Education

World Language: French; Spanish

Mathematics: Bilingual Prealgebra Readiness; Algebra Readiness; Algebra; Geometry;
Advanced Algebra; Pre-Calculus with Trigonometry

Physical Education: Physical & Nutritional Fitness

Science: Biology; Chemistry; Forensics

Social Studies: U.S. History; World Civilization; Baseball in America

TO APPLY FOR A SUMMER SCHOOL TEACHING POSITION:

For Current Glenbrook Teachers

Internal Summer School Application
When completed this information should be forwarded to Human Resouces no later than March 15, 2010. 

For Teachers Outside of District #225
Interested applicants should complete the district's on-line application by clicking on the following link.

For Summer Substitute Teachers
If interested in serving as a substitute teacher in the Summer School Program, please contact Debbie Timpe, (847) 486-4707, in the human resouces department.


ADDITIONAL HELPFUL INFORMATION:

Please note:  Due to the compressed time frame of the Glenbrook Summer School program, teachers will be required to be in attendance every day.

IF YOU KNOW THAT YOU WILL BE UNAVAILABLE ON CERTAIN DAYS -- IN EITHER OF THE SUMMER SCHOOL SESSIONS -- DUE TO VACATION PLANS PLEASE DO NOT APPLY FOR A TEACHING POSITION.

TO CONFIRM TEACHER ATTENDANCE, ALL TEACHERS WILL BE REQUIRED TO SIGN-IN EACH DAY.

In the event of illness, teachers are to contact the Summer School director who will arrange for substitute coverage of the respective teacher's class(es).
